originally, this was a normal 10. Nice graphics, fun gameplay, overall smooth controls. Then I looked at the description, and first flash showed up, so I'm like wow. just an awesome job for your first one. keep up the good work.

alright, you said this was a tribute to canabalt so let's compare.
music - advantage canabalt. I really didn't enjoy this tune very much. Sure it was fun and energetic, but it didn't keep it's flair for long.
graphics - advantage canabalt. Sorry to say it, but I feel that canabalt had far more stylish graphics, and it helped to create far more atmosphere in the game.
gameplay - advantage ticketless. I think you did a nice job adding a bit of variety between obstacles, putting a little more thrill in the game.
highscores - advantage ticketless. Facebook. that's the biggest thing you've done right for this game, and the inability to post scores on facebook was my biggest problem with canabalt.
difficulty - advantage ticketless. It's a no brainer.
All in all, I have to say that your game would win against canabalt in my mind, however it seems like this is a it less similar to canabalt, and closer to an old flash game by the name of arcane castle.

room for improvement.
as an artist, the first thing I look for in a game is graphical quality. The lack of eye pleasing visuals in this game was an immediate turnoff. The gameplay was good, but seemed just a bit TOO simple. There wasn't much new going on between levels. I mean, all in all, The game itself is perfectly fine and presentable, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Gee, I don't think it's fair to rate it without playing the entire game. There are tons of unlockable level tidbits and abilities once you actually play for a while.

Loved it! The gameplay isn't particularly new (falls into the "doodle bounce" category) but you put a very nice spin on it.
I really enjoyed the game show atmosphere of it, and the idea of manually adding extra risks was pretty neat. Bottom line, I really REALLY want to compete on this game show.
Thanks! Nice you liked the idea of adding risks. It's a mechanic in which the player can decide what part of the game should get more difficult.

Don't get me wrong, this a fine game, no problems with it, but it really feels almost like a retaliation against the game gluey, just released on NG a few weeks ago. This is still an excellent game, it just could've been uploaded at a better time in my opinion.

Honestly I've never used newgrounds before well.. 13 hours ago I guess, and just started posting the game around.
Then again, regardless of the concept, with block puzzlers, someone's already done it, whether it be on the amiga, or a flash game 2 weeks ago. In short, I'm not even going to pull the "i didn't know excuse", truth is, it was my first adventure into working with flash, it took less than a week, it was quite easy, but still t I'm damn proud of it.
Hope that puts an end to any future comparisons, but cheers for the review dude,

I had alot of fun with this game. There are a few spelling errors, but nothing huge, so I really didn't care. The two big things I could suggest are
1)turn off the time limit! Games like these are ment to be played unendingly, not with a deadline and a quota
2)I was so dissapointed when I clicked the "deliver gifts" button. I actually rushed thru months just to get to December in hopes of a little gift delivery minigame. Including something l;ike that would really be a cool touch.
Other than that, you did a pretty nice job.

1) You can continue to play the game even after 5 years, just that you cant submit score :)
2) I was thinking of making different animations for delivering a few, some and a lot gifts, but didn't have the time to make it. Mini-game is a good idea. :)
